'SEXY' GREEN CAMPAIGN TARGETS WOMEN By Emma
Sword, Community Newswire Hot Women, run by Surrey-based campaigners Global Warming Alliance, has not yet officially launched but interest has snowballed worldwide following an online video appeal. The campaign targets women who shop and shows them the crucial role they play in the climate change crisis and how they can reduce their carbon emissions. Already women have been signing up across India, the USA, Australia and the UK. Louise Burfitt-Dons, spearheading the campaign, said the initiative's name had raised a few eyebrows but that it is all about getting the campaign noticed. She said: "I think women are backing us because they see it as a moderate campaign - some campaigns can be seen to be too aggressive. "The Hot Women Campaign is aimed at women who shop, which is most of us. "Advertisers use sex to sell the products which contribute to climate change, why shouldn't we? "Not only are women more than 50% of the world population but we are also apparently the majority decision makers on the majority of CO2 emitting purchases. "It's about them realising that just changing one small thing can make a difference." The campaign
is set to launch later this year with a series of public speeches.
